剧情：
潘家辉（刘青云饰）其实也走红过，他曾经是十几年前电影金像奖最佳新人奖得主。然而世事变幻，加上他性格锋利，在圈内的发展每况愈下。失意落魄之时，竟有新人吴晓菲（霍思燕饰）当他是无敌尊师，还拜师学艺。吴晓菲纵然受尽新人的委屈，演戏亦任劳任怨，感动得潘家辉终于收之为徒弟，成为其经纪人。 师徒日夕相对，感情渐厚。吴晓菲慢慢成长的演技，为她带来的第一部戏却是三级片，还要远赴日本。她的事业将走向何方，和潘家辉搁浅的感情又该怎么办。最后成名的是潘家辉，还是吴晓菲，是皆大欢喜，抑或是两败俱伤？
