剧情：
吉娜（奎恩·拉提法 Queen Latifah 饰）是一名技艺精湛的美容师，离开了芝加哥，她带着女儿瓦尼萨（Paige Hurd 饰）千里迢迢来到了亚特兰大，瓦尼萨将要进入那里的音乐学校就读。在亚特兰大，吉娜重操旧业，来到一间美容沙龙中成为了美发师，虽然收入颇丰，但老板乔治（凯文·贝肯 Kevin Bacon 饰）却是个个性古怪的男人，常常找吉娜的麻烦。 在无数次被乔治羞辱刁难后，吉娜决定辞职，开一间属于自己的美容店，然而这件事情说来简单实践起来却困难重重。好在吉娜拥有过人的智慧和过硬的技术，随着时间的推移，她的美容店渐渐走上了正轨，有了一批忠实的顾客。与此同时，吉娜和修理工乔（杰曼·翰苏 Djimon Hounsou 饰）之间亦擦出了爱情的火花。
