剧情：
妹妹樱花一家有了自己的新房子，作哥哥的阿寅送上了他的一份心意——2万元。朋友小岛去世了，阿寅匆匆赶去，见到了他的女儿锦子。她的父亲生前嗜赌好酒，做人做得并不成功。他告诉女儿，一定要嫁给大学毕业的上班族，而不要嫁给小商贩。阿寅将锦子带到东京，他从未这样细心地照顾着她，把她当成自己的女儿。他鼓励锦子重新回到学校，为了她的安全，在她放学时接她回家。锦子的妈妈在她3岁时离开她，所以，阿寅要代行父职，给这个不幸的孩子一个幸福的家。
